Bonnie Hong's accelerated path to PropNex District Leader
for Women In Real Estate 2023, by Property Hunter

Eight years ago, Bonnie had never dreamt of the accomplishments and career that she leads today.
Before stepping on to this path, Bonnie was working at her husband's law firm where she later came to find value in, for that was where she learned all the essential procedures in conveyancing.
She was convinced by a family member to explore her own career in real estate after naturally helping them to find their dream home.
Since then, her determination and talent has landed her numerous top performing awards, including the prestigious MIEA [Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents] Sabah REN OF THE YEAR for the years 2021 and 2022 consecutively.
By 2020, Bonnie was promoted as the Group Leader for her division by the founder of PropNex Malaysia and then as District Leader for her division the following year. She now has 108 team members under her belt.
"My path in real estate is a result of the trust and support given to me by my family, friends, clients, team members, my agency and my network of contacts. I am very grateful for their continuous support. I will continue to stay focused and dedicate my career to achieve more milestones in the future."

Apart from the support of her community, Bonnie perseveres by taking full responsibility in her career.
"Being a certified Real Estate Negotiator is full of challenges. I need to stay positive, persistent and work hard. Along the journey, I keep learning, unlearning and relearning every day. The result of what I am today is because of consistency and persistency.
Honesty and integrity is also a must in this career. I have always upheld these values throughout my career in real estate. Trust is a commodity that cannot be bought. "
On building a strong team, Bonnie says keeping team members motivated is huge part of the process. Introducing healthy competition amongst the team is one of the methods that she uses to spark their interest and fuel their passion.

"The advice to others in the industry would be:
- Be yourself and don’t do things like everyone else if it doesn’t feel natural to you;
- Never give up, no matter how hard and tough the situation is;
- Work hard, be genuine and be a team player;
- Everyone has their own style and there are many styles that are successful; and
- Find people you look up to and try to meet and talk to them about what they learned along the way. This is adding value to yourself."
Bonnie is just one of eight Women In Real Estate 2023.
