Stella Loke's on her Roots In Property Development
for Women In Real Estate 2023, by Property Hunter
If you are familiar with the current real estate landscape in Kota Kinabalu, then you would be no stranger to the upcoming mixed development in the heart of Luyang, The Logg.
Behind the sales & marketing of the much anticipated project, The Logg, would be one of this year's Women In Real Estate, Stella Loke.
The Logg is only Stella's most recent project, however.
Since 2011, as Director of Sales and Marketing of K.T.I. Sdn Bhd, Stella has handled 12 projects across Sabah with a total GDV of RM1.8 billion.
At the core, Stella still considers herself a family woman with a passion for developing homes that was ingrained in her from a young age.
On actively bringing the family business to new heights
"It’s always been a family affair as both my parents are the founders and force behind KTI.
My siblings and I have been brought up with my parents passion in believing everyone deserves a home. Hence, we are now continuing the passion with a newer and more profound desire to fulfil what homeowners are currently looking for.
My biggest motivator would be my CEO, who is also my father, that never accepts a simple “I can’t do it” excuse and implores me to further enhance my knowledge to break barriers and achieve my goals.
My siblings are also my anchor as we work closely together even if we are each in different departments."
Apart from her family, Stella values her team a great deal.
"My team is willing to go anywhere with me, even if I brought them to some unexpected and unexplored territory to achieve our target. Seeing them be so passionate about their sales and achievements really humbles me and motivates me even more to assist them to greater heights.
I believe that there is always a solution to a problem, it is just a matter of how and what."
When there's a will, there's a way
"Motherhood has been a challenge for me as I juggle between my work and also my time with my son. The challenge is to be present for my own family and at the same time to be one of the pillar for our family business.
I am still finding the balance in being a working mom, wife and the director of the company.
Thankfully, my team now are very much capable and operating fantastically when I need time with my family.
Unfortunately sleep deprivation is normal course of occurrence in this industry, however all your efforts will be rewarded in time. Perseverance and knowing when to wait for the next opportunity is a valuable skill to have."
Stella is just one of eight Women In Real Estate 2023.
