Returning to Malaysia in the late 1980s, Datuk Chua joined a prominent quantity surveying firm, gaining valuable insights into the field's vital role in property development. However, it was during the late 1990s Asian recession that Datuk Chua made a pivotal decision – to pursue a master's degree in property development at London South Bank University, UK. This marked the beginning of his deep dive into the green building concept, a passion that would shape the rest of his career.

Armed with a master's degree and extensive experience, Datuk Chua founded Remajaya Sdn Bhd, determined to make a mark in sustainable property development. His vision encompassed not only architectural excellence but also a commitment to renewable energy and sustainable practices.

Under Datuk Chua's leadership, Remajaya's Bay 21 condominium project achieved the distinction of being the first GreenRE silver-rated building in Sabah. His dedication to green building earned him prestigious awards, including the Most Prestigious Eco-Development Award and the GreenRE Silver Award.
