Well-known for it’s fried ‘Tuaran noodles’, Sabahan locals would travel all the way to Tuaran just to devour the fragrant, slightly smoky egg noodle.

Locals would flock to Kentin Bakut especially during Saturday. Located at KM28.7, Jalan Tuaran, Kampung Bakut, Tuaran and operates from 6:30am to 3:00pm (close on Sunday, Kaamatan and Raya holidays).
Order the must-try signature Tom Yam Fried Mee and Tom Yam Big Prawn Fish Noodle Soup. Wanting to quench the heat thirst? Order a ‘Kopi Botol’ with ice! Serve no pork.
Ask anyone on what to eat in Tuaran, the first answer is definitely Tuaran Mee. Tuaran Mee has a long history dating back to the late 1970’s and Lok Kyun Restaurant is one of the pioneers.
Lok Kyun Restaurant was awarded with Sabah Food Awards 2016 voted for its Heritage Food: Tuaran Mee. Located in Tuaran town centre, Lok Kyun Restaurant is open from 11:00am to 4:00pm (close on Sunday).
Restoran Tai Fatt is a family-own business for over 20 years and famous for their Tuaran Mee and stuffed tofu.
The yellow noodles have a springy texture, stir-fried with eggs and you can instantly smell the ‘wok hei’. Two plates of dishes with drinks only costs RM16.50 in Restoran Tai Fatt.
You wouldn’t encounter any problem looking for Halal food in Tuaran because there are many of them! One of the local favorites is Restoran Ganu Kite, serving authentic Terengganu dishes. They also accept catering orders for special occasions.
Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Dagang, Laksa Penang, Nasi Lemak Kukus Ayam Goreng Berempah and Laksam. All these signature dishes by Restoran Ganu Kite are so affordable with a starting price of RM5 and below RM10.
