Where to Shop in Tuaran

Tuaran town has the great advantage of being a stopover for travellers to and from the north districts such as Tenghilan, Kota Belud, Kota Marudu and Kudat to shop at the wet market and multiple stores. 

Tuaran town holds a big natives' open market known as Tamu every Sunday morning. Fresh harvests of produce from nearby villages are brought to the market for sale. Next to the open market is the fish market.

The variety of goods in Tamu is impressive and many great photo opportunities for visitors.

The Tamu also carries dry goods such as salted fish, dried prawns and anchovies at a reasonable price.

Locals come here to get their weekly homemade traditional cakes for tea time.
